You will fall short of days, but not activities in this city. First of all there are a million ways to get to the city, you can drive in by a car, take a taxi ,a bus or you can fly in. if you are driving by your own car, be rest assured that the 280 mile long trip from California to Vegas can be irritating and frustrating at times because of the crowd and the traffic on this highway. None the less, you can take a look around at the beautiful small towns that come along the way, all along this highway. This is primarily a desert drive and you should carry a lot of water with you, especially if you are traveling during the summers. Another road tour to Las Vegas is through the east, via Arizona. This drive is mostly along Lake Mead, the lake formed by the Hoover damn. Traffic over the damn may be slow and congested, but overall this is a sparsely populated route and offers great scenic pleasure along the drive. You can also reach through bus and air, the rail route, unfortunately has been closed down since 1997. Many luxury bus operators arrange tours to suit your needs. Air travel is cheap, affordable and suits all types of customers, from economy class to those who want to charter their own plane. Once you are in the city, its best to walk around because most hotels are connected to each other, either through an underground or an over bridge. In some cases like the Excalibur and Luxor, rail shuttle connections are also provided. Once you are in and have settled, you can visit places like the Flamingo garden, the Bellagio Fountains and catch some free shows such as I lost my 'm' in Vegas etc. but this aside, the one and only one thing of utmost passion, zeal and fortune in Vegas is Gambling. Gambling is legal here, for those who are above 21 years of age, and almost every hotel, pub, supermarket and even the airport provide casinos here. Well, gambling can bring you money, its fun and what's more, in Vegas, you can get yourself complimentary rooms, drinks, nightclub entries and dinner coupons while gambling. It is suggested that an amateur should acquaint to with the rules and scenarios of different games and should bet low, if you don't want to lose your hard earned cash here! Another much sought after thing to do in Vegas is to GET MARRIED HERE!! It is the 'wedding capital' of the world and you can even choose to get married in the air, sitting inside a chopper, overlooking the Vegas sky! Many chapels here provide for immediate wedding without any prior appointments, if you are in a hurry, besides, what other place on Earth you would find better than Vegas to celebrate your Honeymoon! Other activities include mountaineering, backpacking and shopping. After a hard day's work at shopping and other activities, you can enjoy in one of the night clubs, or take a meal at some of the best restaurants in the world, like Craft steak, Mesa grill, Cypress street , I love the bar and the Grill, The buffet and a lot more.
